Tommy L
WIP - i need some advice on settings for the vray light material. Anyone know how to change the sampling, or any other parameters. Only the multiplier is accessable in material editor. Any other comments on how to improve these renders would be great as well. Regards, Tom. Tim Saunders
After selecting the item, you can right click, go to vray properties and increast the gi value for that object.
Ernest Burden III
The back view is crying out for some foreground. The garage fencing is harsh. The daytime view--I love that one! Fantastic view choice. About the only composition improvement would be to have some more cars on the lower right.

Thanks mate. Hang on, wont that just let me make the gi of one object brighter or dimmer, rather than letting me boost the smapling of a particular object? Tim Saunders
i guess i'm not sure what your trying to do. i thought you wanted the objects illumination to spread brighter, which would be done by my suggestion.
Tommy L
Hi, Attached is the latest. I managed to get the vray light material working properly. Upped the global sample values, turned off loads of stuff and comped it later. Comments would be great, Many thanks, Tom.
STRAT
comming along nicely, but all your point or spot lights are way too strong. if you notice wherever you have a light it's burning out the surface it's shining on.
Tommy L
I know, its a right bummer. Havnt really got time to re-render for deadline. I may come back to it in the future though. Im pleased with the rest of the image. Ive got to ps some planting into the gap between the front of the building and the fence. Any advice? Tom. Well played against ireland! Looking really good - my only comment is on the unfortunate tangent of the penthouse railing with the upper roof line: it gets a little confusing. I had an arch professor back in the day (jorge deviño at UT austin) holler at us constantly to watch out for bad tangents: "dont hang your scale figures" he'd say if they were in a corner with a edge coming out of their heads. Ok rant done! I really like the garage lighting - subtle yet informative. -jono
