frazer
Hello just a few questions in case I get stuck for time later on. Have notice that there is quite a few remote rendering farms popping up lately. Most notably the one just announced in the news on this site at the web site - https://www.remoterender.com//eng/welcome_h1.php - and since my computer is very old think I may have to use one when my course work is due in if it starts to take too long to render the frames. Here are just a few questions: - Has anyone used one before and if so is there any you would recommend? - Do you have any opinions about them which could affect me ? - How much on average did you spend per frame for a 2millian polygon scene with a few glossy relections (nothing too fancy tho), with GI and one point source. (would like an rough figure to see if i could afford it or not(not being rude)) - How do you actually send the scene and is there anything you have to do to the files you are using such as bitmaps used in textures, HDRIs, RPC etc (never used backburner or any network rendering and as such do not have clue about this stuff. If it uses something like this would you beable to explain how to do it or recomend a tutorial) - How do you actualy get the image or information which you are using the farm for? - Forgot to say most likely be using Vray does this effect what I do in anyway as well Many thanks for any responses and just to say again this is not for use straight away but trying to think a little down the line (2 months) in case everything goes wrong. Cheers, Frazer
manta
Hey, well first go here to get an idea about cost, they have a Cost Guestimator : http://www.respower.com/ you'll probably want to use the resource collector to coolect all your maps etc.. then you send them (whoever) your scene they render it, then you download it from them, done...
