passepoil9
Hi, everybody. It's my first time here. I have an old intel celeron 266 mhz computer. It dispose of 3 dimm slots. Actually, i have a slot fill with 32 Mo and the other with 128 Mo. The 3rd is free. I wonder how much i can add to max, for my motherboard be able to take it well. I would put another 128 Mo, or 256 Mo if possible... I know it depends of the motherboard, but cannot find the exact model writing (i saw SN: C8121022 sticker (on case), AGP set FW82443Lx (on chipset) and chipset intel I440LX (on monitoring)) I appreciate if you can give me advice on it. Thank you all.

AJLynn
Hmmm. Well, I guess you can still use a computer like that for authoring web pages in Notepad on Windows 95 IIRC, the I440LX can take 128MB DIMMs and with a Cel266 it should probably be using 66MHz SDRAM. DennisHolland
Pascal, if you're planning on a start into 3D or any other heavy graphics, then a good start with a fresh computer is noit a bad idea. You can beef up your ram but then you're stuck with a 266 mhz which is not very userfriendly anymore...a new board is close to a new(er) station, for the money issue. All the best, Dennis
