archithead
guys. i am a total noobie so i need some advice. i created this model in autocad a long time ago and now i want to render it and finish the modeling in max7. the only problem is that the textures are all wacky. is there any other way to fix this that doesnt involve making it all over again. please help me. and please ignore the mediocre attempt at mental ray i am only one week into using this program. any rendering tips are welcome, but first things first. textures. STRAT
looks like you've not applied correct mapping co-ordinates to your object.
IHAB
try adding maps in 3dsmax with correct uvwtexture modifier
archithead
as you know i am new to all of this so i am not sure what you mean by mapping coordinates and with the correct uv texture modifier. i am using a basic texture with the face map checked. (?) teaching yourself the whole program in a weekend is painful. i will check my books when i get home, but they dont seem to be of much help. thank you for your help guys. if you want to offer up more detailed help feel free. if not... thanks for anything you already offered and i hope i can post something decent in the coming weeks. later, -mike

archithead
ok so i tried what youy suggested and it worked to some degree, but now i have a problem with the texture on adjacent walls being 90 degrees opposed. i have rotated the bitmap of the texture with no seamless results. any ideas? Yaseck
If You use UVWMap modifier - click on the gizmo (it apearas when you roll out the uvwmap word on the modifier list) and then in the proper viewport rotate the yellow "thing". It might help.
