MR: colored Mental Ray material in viewport?

Hi all,

 

(probably the most stupid Q about MR ever asked...)

 

How can I change the color of a MR-material in the viewport (without displaying the maps)?

The box next to the slots is clickable, but i cannot change it's color... any ideas?

Nisus,

 

MR is a little tricky that way as far as displaying the shader colors in the viewport. If you have a texture map in the material, it should display fine. If you are just using a DGS shader color in the diffuse component, then what I do is copy the color from there and paste it into the diffuse swatch of the main max material to get that same color to appear in the viewport. Tedius? yes it is but I think we have to put up with it for now until the bugs are worked out of it's MAX integration.
