skala67
I havent been able to get this right. How do you make a corner of a rough stone or brick or CMU wall look realistic (ins and outs and rough) and not just a straight line. I know the bump map doesnt help there. any ideas? see corner of stone of house below. It doesnt look right. thanks in advance,
STRAT
you could either put a slight SPD map to it, which would slow rendering down, or you could actually model the roughened edge up. maybe chamfer the edge slightly and noise it up. personally, i'd model it in autocad. it need only be a quick simple affair, just something to take that razor sharp edge off. William Alexander
Put a bevel on the edge, and if the bump cubic mapped it'll work fairly well. Here's an example...the bevel is probably around 1.5-2" real world scale and I believe having the smoothing angle greater than the beveled surfaces is required for this to work. Try it and see WDA
Sindala
a bit of a quick fix would be to use the smudge tool set to 100% in photoshop and move some pixels from left to right. Not a very intelligent solution but it saves up a lot of render and test time.
leed
I would go the photoshop way, use the clone tool and a small scattered brush. Lee
