flatlander4510
I would like to learn how to turn 2d cad files (blueprints of residential homes) into 3d models, and then link to viz, add materials/lights/cameras etc, and render a still image. I am very interested in learning how to do this, and I am currently teaching myself autoCAD 2006 and VIZ 2006 with some books. I am looking for someone who could tutor me on this process, and I am willing to pay someone to walk me through this and teach me. If someone out there is willing to do this, I would greatly appreciate it. Send me a PM if you wanna help me out:) thanks! -Harrison
Al_Zyma
A basic overview of the process would be: Using 2D details as reference, build a 3D model in autoCAD. Several techniques to learn to do this. If you have ADT use wall and window/door/roof slab objects. If just cad then a combination of extrusion, addition/subtraction etc using solids or/and mass elements. Make sure objects you want to attach the same material too are on same layer. When you've built up 3D model, link it to Viz. Using select layer from drop down menu pick layer required then add materials. Set up render options etc etc This is a very basic overview and there's always more than one way to skin a cat as the saying goes! Good luck.
