DennisHolland
Randy Rhoads replaced Lindsey Buckingham. He's also a bit dead... The rest of 'm? they don't fit in my top
Ray
You guys are leaving some big names off your lists--Joe Satriani, EVH, Jeff Beck, just to name a few.
Brian Cassil
Just in case someone doesn't realize it, I believe EVH is for Eddie Van Halen, and I agree, another glaring ommision.
skala67
I have to agree with Jeff Beck and EVH as top 10, and hows about lesser publicised guitarists like Johnny Winter and Albert Collins.
IC
No Brian May? I'm not qualified musically to comment on guitarists as I can't play a note but I never understood the devotion people have for all that wittering solo stuff you hear on (mainly 70's) rock stuff. I liked Cream but the only one who could hold my interest long enough was Hendrix. He may not have been technically the 'best' but he was had real charisma. That wins the day for me. Ernest Burden III
No Brian May? Nope. What about Carlos Santana, or Stevie Ray Vaughan? George Harrison (though the lead in 'The End' is actually Clapton)? You can't look at the best CG firms without keeping those guys in mind. skala67
Thank you. Stevie Ray is definitely on that list...RIP Speaking of guitarists....My favorite drum solo i ever seen was the one on Pink floyd Live at Pompeii. when Mason is pounding away during Careful with that axe eugene (i think), not even looking at the drums, just feelin it, and all of a sudden a drumstick goes flyin out of his hand, and without missing a beat, and without even lookin down he picks another one up from the top of the bass drum and slams the rest of the solo out. I think that tis my favorite. even better than bonzo's in the "song remains the same".... actually watching all those guys play in that movie inspires me every time...even waters playin the big gong.. 2 cents
Sawyer
I would place Santana at the top of personal fav architectural illustrators. Also missing is one of my favorites Mark Knopfler.

Ray
Ok, how about this: The current issue of Guitar World magazine has 4 feature articles on Pink Floyd, including an interview with David Gilmour (who is on the cover) and an interview with Roger Waters. Some very good information on the break up and possible future of the group. It als contains a small poster, one side has a pic of the band members (circa late 60's), the other side has that pic of the women sitting by the pool with the Pink Floyd album covers as body paint. Brian Cassil
the other side has that pic of the women sitting by the pool with the Pink Floyd album covers as body paint. I love that picture. A great combination of two of my favorite things. I'm gonna have to stop by the book store and pick me up a copy.
Ray
The poster isn't very large, maybe 24 x 18, and the quality isn't the best--but the articles are worth the price.

vizwhiz
if There was somewhere (or someway) To get access To enough album covers we could (collectively) create an Impressionistic cg project with Bldg, Landscape Trees using scans (scads) of pixelated album covers arranged To look like (see above) just a wild hair idea maybe even NPR effects added in post using FotoChop Randy
DennisHolland
The album got a lot of praise down here as well. I think we can say that Floyd 3D (Creative director D. Gilmore) is the best firm! Dennis
Sawyer
Wow well we have proven that we are guys and we can talk about guitars. and i dont have a mullet any more. although i still dress like Sonny Crockett out of Miami Vice Strat glad you are keeping the Don "this would look gay on someone less manly than me" Johnson look alive. When I went out on my I own I tried to go for the "I have tattoos and piercing I must be creative" look but frankly I really seem to get the "fat computer guy" look down. No one else can go for that look I have it down. If we all went for that look we would look kind of geeky. No offense but don't even try looking fat I have it it's been done. Infact a while ago I tried the Teleltubbie look. I'm not into the kinky stuff I didn't try to look like Tinky Winky. Dipsy is really a bad a## and Lala is sexy when she plays the guitar (think Liz Phai before she got all commercial). I'm not embarrased we all do crazy things for fun.
