Brian Cassil
Unfortunately indeed. They were big just about the time my first born was turning two. So grandparents were flooding the house with those things as presents. Thankfully, they are in a landfill somewhere now.
Chad Warner
Luckily my son wasn't too into them, so I didn't have to worry about people trying to buy them for him.
Sawyer
I hate to say it but the Tubbies I don't mind too much. There are so many worse programs "Dragon Tales", "Barney" "News Hour With Jim Lehr". Tubbies well I never really understood it enough to find it offensive.

IC
you buried your grandparents in a landfill???? Isn't that where they all go? I'm glad we're now discussing true cultural icons like the teletubbies instead of dull old rock gods. To add another point to the real discussion at hand, wouldn't Pink Floyd be much cooler if they stayed apart? The Stones would have been the number one on loads more people's lists if they hadn't marred a great reputation by carrying on WAY past their best. Ray
the designer is the best.who is creative ,and open-minded ,and accept the new things. yatta, yatta, yatta . . . Aw c'mon, we've succeefully hijacked this thread--don't try and steer it back on course! What we really want to know is what's your stand on Pink Floyd, inflatable pigs, and the Teletubbies? skala67
In the states, there was teletubby controversy a few years back. I guess the Tinky Winky Doll was believed to have said something to the effect of being gay or something...The religious right went crazy. Did that happen anywhere else in the world? "By the way...which one's pink" and on the topic of best 3d studio....did anyone see the travesty called "The New Cars"? http://www.flashenhanced.com/carsblondie/ Its Todd Rundgren and some other non-original "cars" members, touring with blondie and singing "Cars" songs. What will happen next...the lead singer of Bad Company taking over Freddie Mercury's role in Queen? ...What? that already happened?....
Ray
The Cars, another of my favorite bands (although I think their first album was their best), so this is a travesty! Actually I heard that Paul Rodgers is doing a pretty good job "filling in" for Freddie.
IC
This thread was losing credibility when the teletubbies came up but that's it now. I've unsubscribed.

Brian Cassil
OK, you've perked my interest in tweenies, I'm googling it now... I don't know, doesn't look nearly as bad as teletubbies. Nothing can touch those guys, not Barney, not Mr. Rogers, HR Puffinstuff, Land of the Lost, not ANYTHING. And the Tinky Winky gay thing had to do with his special item was a purse, he had no problem wearing ballerina skirts, and something about purple being a gay color (never understood that part). If Tinky Winky is gay, that doesn't bother me nearly as much as not being able to figure out WHAT THEY ARE!!! I mean, are they baby aliens or wierd animals or WHAT! And who is the sadistic control freak that tells them through the motorized speakers when its time for bed, when to wake up, when to dance, when to eat and so forth. And why the bunnies! jsageheart
C'mon... not one mention of the Grateful Dead... I believe that they still hold credit for top gross sales for live performances and they were instrumental in the birth of the internet with their message boards and forums. Where have all the hippies gone?

I believe that they still hold credit for top gross sales for live performances and they were instrumental in the birth of the internet with their message boards and forums. Where have all the hippies gone? I believe they were all rounded up in the great hippie purge of '98. We're not talking about live performance gross sales, or total album sales, or total gross live album sales, or anything that includes numbers and the word sales. We're just talking about who is the best, and it has already been decided that the best is the firm of Gilmour, Waters, Mason, and Wright.
skala67
....and of course one of their founding fathers, Barrett.
IC
and it has already been decided that the best is the firm of of Gilmour, Waters, Mason, and Wright. I think the proof is inconclusive on that one. I'd even rate recent artists like Radiohead and The Stone Roses WAY above Floyd. But then that's my opinion. I'm not actually sure you can say there IS a best rock...eh arch viz firm. It's too objective and reliant on personal tastes, fashion etc.
