Hi guys...

I've been facing the same problem over n over using exterior setting for a realistic glass. It's just to difficult to achieve a realistic one... i've tried an advise about using a falloff map on the reflection slot and putting an image on the falloff slot to create a foreground reflection but no satisfying result yet...

Anyone here knows how to create a realistic shadow of foreground on an exterior glass?

Thanks in advance...

Plenty of previous stuff on this topic, though not necessarily VRay. One thing that I would say is...realistic glass shadows are three words that are not usually used in conjunction. I've done it, as it is sometimes necessary to fake glass by introducing shadows (because you need to show depth in a facade for instance), however it never looks realistic.

i think for architectural glass; the thing that matters most is what the glass reflects... we might include varied falloffs for the relfection and yet the glass is reflecting a solid color thus making it unrealistic. I guess a good way to execute this is use a jpg or atleast what u want the glass to reflect wether its embedded localy in the material or with in the global environment itself.

For some additional concept; here in strats thread you can find some ways on how to apply the environment reflection in PS...
