Trevor Tizard
Hi, Would really need to know what software you are using first.............if you have Max or Viz I would suggest downloading Vray for your renders as I found it much better and quicker than anything I could do with radiosity. justintime1
Hi I’m using cinema 4d R9. Would you recommend Max over cinema 4D. Im kinda of stuck with cinema at the moment as its what I use at work , I do intend to start doing some freelance work and have considered learning max before I outlay money on new software. mbr
Go look at the C4D forum. Max is huge, but C4D looks like a great deal. I know Final Render has a plugin for it, maybe Vray too? Personally, I would stickwith C4D as you can get paid to get better at work. Convince them to buy Final Render and learn that, then you'll be able to do anything. AJLynn
I love C4D. For what I'm doing (which is not, strictly speaking, arch vis) it's the ideal software. I do find the lighting engine a bit weak, but only when compared with Vray et al, and the materials system is top notch. Have a look at the video tutorials from 3dfluff.com - they have one on interiors with radiosity and one specifically about the new stuff in 9.5. Also, I've only had limited opportunities to work with FinalRender2 for C4D but I like what I've seen. Looks roughly as powerful/almost as fast as Vray (maybe faster in some cases) but it's pretty new and doesn't yet have as much of a highly knowledgeable user base to draw on. It doesn't work with the funky SLA shaders, but I've been able to get its shader tree system to do its own funky stuff.
