what's wrong with this image? does it look acceptable?

I can't figure out a good setup for exterior.

what confuses me is :

Skylight: Multiplier setting

and color mapping: bright and dark multiplier setting

also should it be linear, exponential, HSV exponential?

I think one of the main reasons is that your camera position is wrong. The water lacks bump and is too clean. The chair model is cheap (sorry for that) and GI settings are too strong. Keep your sampler on linear, exponental is only if you have possible overblown area to be cleaned up. Also, do something about the environment.

This could be a cool one, if you pay some attention on details.

Dennis

thanks guys for feedback.

my main focus was GI setting/lighting setting

I know that chair is stupid

So for exteriors, linear color mapping will work most of the time?

what about dark/bright multipliers?

what about skylight intensity?

directional light (sun) intensity?

for skylight I have 1.5

for directional light (sun) I have 3
