Animation Help!!!!!

I have 15 different actions animated in a sequence and need to add 2 seconds after each action. If I do this, it will throw everything off after it. How can I insert more frames without messing up the actions I have already synchronized? What is the term or technique that I could look up?

Thanks

We need to know what app you're using to offer advice. If you're talking about a 3D program, this should have been posted under the appropriate forum. I'm afraid if you're using max there's no alternative that I know of other than to slide out the animated objects in the track view and space 60 frames between each.

Good luck,

Shaun

You need to "scale" the animation keys. If your using max or viz, go to the curve editor, select all the keys, make sure the time is at the begining (because thats where it will scale from) and drag to the desired length. The other option is to use the time configuration window, add the extra time and then hit the re-scale time button. I haven't done that for a couple of versions though. When I had tried to do that in max 6 it seemed a little buggy. Could have been me doing something wrong though. I just always use the scale keys function now.

The best way to go about this is to use the Dope Sheet (the other part of Track View). There is an "Insert Time" tool and you can just select the frame you want and insert 60 frames (2s) of animation. Each track that you want to do this for must be selected.

The Insert Time tool looks like a clock with a black track under it; it's right in the middle of the Dope Sheet time toolbar. Just turn it on, click on the track and drag how ever many frames you want; everything past it will slide down.
