edub
I posted a similar question over at CG talk, but since it's architecturally related, I'd like to give it a go here as well: I often have to import models from FormZ (using VRML2), and while the export/import process works without major troubles, there's one aspect which greatly annoys me. All objects and groups, regardless of their distance from the origin, will have their null coordinates set to 0,0,0 after importing. This makes moving them around/ applying textures, etc. in C4D difficult, as the distances are at the architectural scale. I was wondering if there exists a plug-in, or a method by which it would be possible to reset the object null coordinates to the object centroid (where it should, logically, be)? I would greatly appreciate any info on the existance of, or the possibility of creating this plug-in. Thanks, e
edub
fwiw, I've been directed to a plug-in called "CenterAxis". Looks like it'll do the trick!

edub
I got it at Studio Fabian http://www.studio-fabian.de/ It seems like it only works on individual objects (one at a time) - anyone know how I can do multiple objects (hundreds) at the same time? edub
Actually, the aptly named "Axis Center" by David O'Reilly (not to be confused with the forementioned "Center Axis") , seems to be capable of doing multiple objects simultaneously. It also has a dialogue box which stays open after you execute, which can be beneficial. http://www.plugincafe.com/download_browse.asp?downloadID=P1200111647AXIS02
Frosty
Thanks for the research. Your comment about wanting to "do hundreds at a time" brings up my single greatest wish for Cinema...Macros. Think PhotoShop actions but in 3D. FormZ has had this since I started using it '97.
