bo@albertassociates.com
I am rendering a bldg with concrete blocks and panels. I apply the material, and checked the view materials box. the texture will not show up in my viewport so mapping the material becomes impossible. is there a setting or an option/configuration for this? Also i use final-render stage-0 thanks Bo
Tim Saunders
Have you assigned uvw mapping to the object(s)? Are you using a Standard material or a final render material?
Iain Denby
If it's a blend material, make sure you tick the correct 'interactive' box at the top of the structure.

luisfmoreira
Hi, I'm having the same problem but I'm using a FR material, is there anyway I can view it in the vieports? The show map in viewport is grayed out. Thanks
DelfoZ
Hi, I'm having the same problem but I'm using a FR material, is there anyway I can view it in the vieports? The show map in viewport is grayed out. Thanks You can´t apply the material in the viewport with Final Render Mats, what you need to do is click in the "MAP" you want to see in the viewport (ie Difusse Bitmap/Bumap map) open it then u can click Show Standard Map in Viewport. Ausmax
Hi bow, Did you manage to find an answer to your problem with viewing your texture? I have a similar problem - using max 2010, using a .jpg bitmap for my texture, views when I render but not showing in viewport ( I need it to show because it is a reference plan for my building). When texture is applied it just turns grey in the viewport ( and it's not the default colour from the material editor). If I start a new max document the material works fine and can be viewed in the viewport. I should say that in this max file I have applied materials to other objects and they have worked fine but this new object is different. I thought that this might be a memory issue but I have checked my settings and they seem ok. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thankyou.
