attaching movie files..

how do i do this guys??..i want to render a media / entertainment room for a client and for the presentation want to show that there's an actual movie playing on the tv...how can i do this or attach a movie file to get this effect that something actually plying on the tv..i use c4d for modelling and rendering..but i want to know what software u can use to get that effect???

 

can i render a stll image then attach a file in post effect as the tv screen????using a specified programme

cant you just add the tv image as an animated map to the tv screen then render it?

well, you can set the tv face/screen to an alpha map...easiest way is as a green/blue screen. Then go into a post program-i favor sony Vegas- and composite in the shot, but strat's recommendation of creating an animated gif will save you a lot of time. Just create an animated .gif in photoshop and then you can face map it in cinema.

You can also load video files in the color slot, but it slows things down a bit and I'm not sure exactly what the requirements are.

All of the above comments will work as well as selecting the first frame of an image sequence. No need to load a video file - the first frame of a numbered set will do.

I dont thin a gif will work. Video files and image sequences will.

That would depend on the material you are setting up. Personally, I would put it in both colour and luminance.
