Matthew Loughran
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best advised way to animate leave's falling off a tree at a medium/high level of detail? I am using Onyx trees and have the full plug-in to max 8, I am also going to animate the wind so I will need a relatively high level of control over the fall. Any suggestions or references to similar works would be much appreciated Many thanks Matt
Brian Cassil
I don't have any references to similar work, but if I were doing somehting like that I would model my own leaves, create a particle system, and substitute the particles with my modeled leaves. Simon Moir
I think particles too. Check out the Mezzo ads: http://throb.net/ I think I remember somebody explaining it was done with particles on the vray forums. Geoff was trying to arrange an interview about these ads I think? Matthew Loughran
Thanks for the replys guys, i have started to have a go at the particle method and i think i can get it to work. I have never used proxies, how do they work? The effect is only for a single tree so i am not too worried about polygon counts or render times!
