what do you recomend ?

hi all,

am trying to search over some books to learn more about architectural animations,i think am pretty good in creating still images but i have lack in experience in animations...i can know my way around in simple animations but what i need to learn is some good visual effects technics & ,what am i asking for is do you recommend any books that covers this for architects as i searched over amazon & they were all about character animations,

any help would be much appreciated.

You just said ,the books are for character animations and so for , I dont know books for how to move a camera I guess :D ,this is architectural animations,

as for visual effects there are various softwares pretty easy to use like adobe after effects,combustion....etc

 

also maya has a great visual effects system,if y're a maya user:cool:

It is a common problem. If you look at most architectural animation, it is generally pretty bad... ei... 1000+ frame forward moving walkthough. In very few cases, you will see something that stands out. Generally speaking, learning proper cinematography is a great way to start.

 

General pointers I can give:

 

- start with a storyboard

- don't do one long shot

- do plenty of animatics

- avoid forward moving cameras

- try to add subjects to your scenes

- find interesting perspectives and avoid things like perspective correction... while it may be ok for stills it looks really wrong (and very static) in motion.

- backlighting is almost always more interesting
