Trick
Which version ? Is the license properly installed ? Did you save IRR with multiframe incremental or at least incremental add to current map ? Did you use VRayMat for all materials ? If you want FAST help: ask http://www.chaosgroup.com/forum/phpBB2/
vibhore22
hi tirck, the vray version is 1.47 and it is a licensed version. and i have tried it with both the options. (incremental and add to currnt map) and all the materials r vray.
Trick
Did you model your meshes so all normals are pointing outwards ? Try rendering with all materials one-sided, so you can see if your mesh is OK and if flickering persists.
lambros
Also, what is your secondary GI solution? If you use QMC it will flicker. Check that you use Lightmap (flythrough). It is saved with the irradiance map.
dbarc
It could be coplanar surfaces - vray pretty reliably flickers where 2 surfaces occupy the same space to the extent that it's a pretty useful check. Make sure none of your objects or faces are doubled up
alfienoakes
Did you use ADT to create the model..before transferring to Viz..?
anvaraziz
if its a licensed version, ask it directly on vray forum,,, they can help u more,... or ill tell u to take a look on chris nichols DVD, or take a look at this tuto http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/VRayHelp150beta/tutorials_imap2.htm
Christopher Nichols
Also, what is your secondary GI solution? If you use QMC it will flicker. Check that you use Lightmap (flythrough). It is saved with the irradiance map. Not true... the QMC secondary bounces are saved in the irradiance cache. Before LightCache came around that was the preferred way of doing it. I still think that QMC on secondary is a good way to go in come conditions.
vibhore22
hi friends, thanks for all ur tips and solutions. but i guess the problem is something else. i have done the modeling with very simple method like using box primitives then on the other hand i have used vray materials for more accuracy and also have tried both QMC and light map for secondry bounces but still the result is the same so this is not the first time i am facing this problem, whenver i have any animation to render with vray i am stuck like that.i have gone to christopher nichols vray DVD also and have followed the method but still the result is the same. are there any default parameters in vray which needs to be taken care of before doing the actual rendering procedure or can anyone tell me the general paramaters for the best rendering results ?? manta
A few questions for you : are you using the highest settings in your irradiance maps, in other words is it set to "high animation" in the presets... you said you were using nth frames, at what setting are you doing this, i.e. 10 frames 5 frames etc...you may need to lower the number if the camera is moving fast... Are you rendering on one computer or is it ntework rendered... What kind of shadows are you using... Have you ever been able to render a flicker free animation... if not, try doing something simple, like one tree, high poly, with vray shadows, GI with irradiance set to "high animation" secondary to QMC, with the camera rotating 360 around the tree, and if it still flickers then I don't know... Crazy Homeless Guy
the number one rule if you want help on something like this is to post an example. post a clip, and show us what type of flicker it is. is it an entire plane that keeps going black? ...if so, you have co planar faces? ...my guess is that you are using low AA settings, and the flickering is coming from objects that are not Anti-Aliasing properly. but i don't know that for sure, because you didn't provide us with a visual.
