MrCAD
I'm trying to achieve a realistic material that could render in the default scanline render. The image attached is with scanline for reference any suggestions would be helpful. thx Meher http://www.mr-cad.com

raj
which material are you focusing on? The lamp shade, or the metal? The blue lamp shade looks to me like a hard, translucent plastic (which looks very good if that's what you're going for). If it's supposed to be cloth then it doesn't look soft enough. Maybe some noise in the bump map, or a cloth texture applied to the transparency slot, or something? *shrug* All in all the render looks very nice. -Raj
Fran
What about using a gradient in the transparency slot?
Tim Saunders
Along with what Rajeed said, if your looking to get a realistic material, we need to know what material you are trying to simulate.
