3DwannaBE
Ive been on Max and well, modeling for almost 2months. I've followed tutorials and the best ones I have found here. Althought my interiors are turning out decent, I can't for the life of me figure out how you get the window to be one solid bright light. When I do it, even following a tutorial, its not the same. If I delete the faces, all you see is black from the environment. And if I keep them there, you see the frame. Do I make the enviroment white or is there one little thing Im doing wrong? For example, I fit a vray light within the window facing into the room.. direct light coming in from the outside... just wondering what Im doing wrong. Thx for a response. Fran
You can either make the environment color white or make your Vray light visible.
3DwannaBE
Thanks for the reply. Now, if I make it visible, will that mean you no longer see the frame? And also, is this the technique most of you guys use to make the windows so bright when rendering scenes? I hate to sound like I know nothing but everything else seems pretty ok in my renders except making the window bright. And to add, should my windows be capped solid or no? I still would like to have my frame shadows in some of my scenes. Thanks alot.
3DwannaBE
Well I tried making the vray light visible and that took away my direct light shadow and I also checked override max in the environment of vray and made it white with a multiplier of 5.0 but when I render, the window still shows black outside? Any advice anyone has would be perfect because either I can't follow directions or Im missing a step. Thanks alot.
krizinbizz
You have to make 3D Max's default environment white (press '8').
