AdamT
And I would think it a problem for nextLimit to ban a customer who bought 120 licences. Just a guess. Wait, who bought 120 licenses?
Adehus
Wait, who bought 120 licenses? Maxer did, I believe.
AdamT
Maxer did, I believe. Holy sh*@! My head would have exploded 6 months ago if I'd bought 1/10th that number. Someone's head would have exploded, anyway.
_PopArt
Funny i think the mods must be sleeping, the link is still on the forum:D

lambros
ha ha, unfortunately we decided to stick to barcelona (we visited madrid 2 years ago). If I had bought 20 licenses instead of 1, I would go for sure, believe me...
_PopArt
oh well the mods woke up. All threads deleted plus a symbolic lock on the post with a warning for all to see.

yog
Remember--tomorrow we should expect an important announcement on canceling pre-orders. I'll be all over it.Is that a REAL "expect", or the typical NL "expect" (i.e. never). If it's for real I'll be taking them up on the offer. I know I haven't been too vocal on the matter, but I think NL have behaved discracefully over the last year, Maxwell appears to be a LONG way off being production ready, and to be honest I can't wait to was my hands of the company and it's product. Devin Johnston
Yep Mike gave me my one and only warning so I guess next time I'll get banned. I'm very surprised that it lasted as long as it did, I wonder if the Mods just left it up for a while because they secretly agreed with it. Ernest Burden III
Is that a REAL "expect", or the typical NL "expect" (i.e. never). It's based on a NL 'expect', but it'll be coming from me one way or the other.
Sawyer
Maxer that quote from Mike was kind of scary. Seems like there are many threats now. "We have the power we cantake things away from you" type of stuff. I can even relate to wanting to curb the insulting threads (although I think a forum where people just bitch would be in order. Open a topic that allows people to complain and put a sticky that says no moderator will read these just a bitching post) but there is this real malicious content where moderators want to seem in control and have the power to do something to you. Creepy.
Ernest Burden III
[MIKE] Maxer...Was this really worth it? [/MIKE] A rather short-sighted question. I think the answer is rather obvious. Unless Mike thinks you're an idiot, and there's no reason he should.
_PopArt
I really like maxwell (or liked it up until the beta), but seeing what is going on really makes me want to throw up. Its hard to believe NL and the moderators have managed to totally destroy something as promising as maxwell was, and also destroy a community that was so supportive and enthusiastic. You have to be really expert to do so much damage
Devin Johnston
I think it's obvious that all of the complaining that has been done over the last year has severely impacted NL's profits. They've probably seen a dramatic drop in their sales and figured out it was because of the forum and all the bad press they've been getting. There trying to stop it now by choking off any debate and only keeping the people around that tow the NL line. And yes I think it was worth it! marcdevon
Maxer I think you forgot Maxwell forum's 1st commandment: "Thou Shalt Not Take Maxwell Render's Name in Vain" Marcus

There trying to stop it now by choking off any debate and only keeping the people around that tow the NL line. I think it's an exercise in futility then, because with all the harsh heavy handed tactics going on has created a seriously negative section of the user base. Now if a potential customer asks on NL's (or any other) forum for a recommendation, they are sure to get at least a few vocal people warding them off. I would have thought NL would have learn't their lesson when they tried to curb the "happy-happy" feeling by excluding non-owners. Now the only section potential customers can see is "Off Topic", which is a real nest of anti-NL vipers. Then again, when has NL ever shown the ability to learn from their own mistakes. AdamT
And yes I think it was worth it! I'm glad you did it. I think if it had been anyone else (i.e., less invested in Maxwell) they've have been banned outright.

marcdevon
For some other Maxwell forum's commandments: "Remember November 22 (history in the making), to keep it holy" "Honor thy Tom and thy MVerta: that thy days may be long" "Thou shalt not sell thy Maxwell license nor shall thou ask for a refund" "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's VRay, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's Mental Ray, nor anything that is thy neighbor's renderer"

I didn't realize you (or anyone for that matter) had paid for 120 licenses. I would expect Mike and Tom to be out in your driveway waxing your car. What's your strategy for dealing with Next Limit? I guess I'm surprised you haven't taken legal action already, but then again maybe you have? I'm pretty angry that I'm out $400, so I can only imagine what you must be thinking.
