The survey isn't working for me. I've tried it with FireFox and IE on several different computers. It keeps looping back from 'state' (New York) to 'work in a major city' (yes or no, same result) then back to state, then city, then state... says I haven't answered all questions on the page, but there's only one per page, and they have a selection or checkmark showing.

frustrating

I had one other person complain about this the other day, but I don't know what it is. Really odd. I had to close the survey today so I can start compiling the results, but hopefully I will find out why this was happening to some.

Thanks Jeff for the Survey. I just read through it. There was some very good information but I have a few comments which could make the charts more helpful:

1) The results could use a number of respondants either above the bars or on the left.

2) could be broken down by position, years experience, freelance/contract, etc.

3) could be further broken down into regional factors - someone in Main cannot be expected to make the same in Boston.

Number of respondants are indicated at the top of every page in the PDF and if you follow the link to the raw data link in the PDF it will also show the number of respondants for each question.

2) could be broken down by position, years experience, freelance/contract, etc.

It is but you need to purchase access to the RAW data so you can do your own custom filtering. There is no way I could possibly do a report for every state and country on it's own for every type of position and experience range. If you have access to the raw data you can create your own filters to get this type of specific information.

3) could be further broken down into regional factors - someone in Main cannot be expected to make the same in Boston.

Same as #2

Thanks for the survey...

Not funny. the next person who tries to circumvent the 10 posts rule by posting 10 meaningless posts in a row will be banned permanently! Neither I nor our moderators want to spend time cleaning up crap like this. Consider yourself warned. Your download access has been revoked, although I suspect you have already obtained access to the download.

The intent of 10 posts and/or 30 days registraton is to reward participation on our forum, not smart asses.

Hello,

I've been out for a long time because of wrok but I remember I participate to this survey and now I cannot access results ?

Is it a question of day ?

Thx

You should be able to access the download, you have already met the criteria and your profile has download access activated.

Hey Jeff,

Thanks very much, the survey is very useful, and the timing couldn't have been better for me. I found this in the articles section as well:

http://www.cgarchitect.com/news/Reviews/Review025_1.asp which I found even more useful until I realised it doesn't relate to this survey but the 2004 one instead. I don't expect its the most exciting task to face, especially when working for Smoothe! but was wondering if you have any plans , or have already put a similar article together for the current survey?-it may seem that I'm being lazy but as a relative necomer to Archiviz it really helps put all the good survey work into perspective.

Many thanks for the good work,

H

Hi Henry,

Actually I wrote a 4000 word article for 3Dworld article for their May Architectural Visualization supplement. It has a recap of the survey and lots of fancy graphs and such. It is on the stands in the UK on the 23rd I believe, and will be worldwide 4-6 weeks after that. Definetly an issue not to be missed.

PS. I have not worked for Smoothe for almost 2 years. I am currently responsible for business development at VisMasters (www.vismasters.com), ArchVisions new initiative.

Hey Jeff,

Wow, not only is this the exact answer I was looking for but that very issue of 3d world popped through my letter box the very same day i read your reply, what are the chances of that?!! Your not my postie in your spare time are you, ho ho. The supplement is pretty stunning-in a ideal world of course us 3d world subscribers would recieve one every month...but am I asking for too much now??!. Vismasters looks like a lot of fun, its in my favs now. And thanks to all this my business plan will be about 200% more convincing, and may actually even finally be finished, (first draft anyway) before christmas!!

Many. many thanks

H
