pioters77
hello!:-) Is it possible to render animation using net render through internet?
Frosty
Yes. Server must have a static IP address though. Be aware of the bandwidth and time required to move all required files to the render clients and also for the frames to come back to the server. Sindala
Here's a thought, let's say someone writes a plug in which could distribute renders across the internet easily. With all the broadband connections it shouldn't be that hard. The people could subscribe to this international network, and earn points (rated by hours and processorpower) by leaving their computers on at night to render other peoples jobs. And then when you've collected enough points you can also render your own jobs on this international renderfarm. If this works well you could have a renderfarm with loads of nodes attached. It's like a timeshare / napster render. But then again, maybe this is a bit too ambitious.
Frosty
The problem would be plugins... all of the nodes need the plugins that are being rendered.
