IHAB
I suggest to keep your ram for the new one if yougonna sell your old one or throw it away!!(this is better) everyone here will go for the dual opteron I guess ..as I was told before.

AJLynn
Haneet- All of the AMD options you mentioned are better than that Intel. There are also those who say "get the 3800 and overclosk" but overclocking makes me nervous.

AJLynn
ok can u tell me should i go in for 3800 or 4200 or 440 or 4800.....so that my budget doesn't get much inflation. Thanks Your call. Best one you can get. I haven't priced these but I'll just say that the speed/price curve generally works so that the best value is in the mid range of the line - e.g. the 4400, not the 4800. chuck
are the opteron's at the top dual cores? i'm currently looking at putting a dual dual core opteron box together, or just a single athlon dualcore.

Greg Hess
I usually don't reply to posts about things already purchased. The best time to give advice is prior to a purchase, not after. With that in mind, I probably would have paid another 200 dollars to get 400 additional megahertz.
