John Martin
Hi all, I have a question concerning the Acme and Belden brick designers. I am doing a rendering that is going to require extensive use of brick and I want to use these programs to make the material maps. The problem is that every time I try to make a make a map the tiling is off. I can never get it to make a map that will tile properly. Say I am making a map that is 4 bricks high and 4 wide. I always end up with a map that is not quite that leaving a half brick at the end of a row so that when it tiles there is an obvious joint. I am at a loss on how to fix this problem. I do not want to make a map of the entire wall if I can help it. Any help is appreciated. See the attached image for my problem. You can ignore the colors if there is a variance as I can fix that. It was built as a custom size of 4 bricks high and 4 wide which SHOULD end up with 2 rows with full bricks and 2 rows with half bricks at the ends. Frosty
I've found that those apps require some PS work on the maps after they are created. Its a great starting point tho.
ShaunDon
I've noticed this too, John. I played for over a half hour one day trying to find a way to make it work. I gave up and now I just produce as large a map as the program will output then crop it appropriately in Photoshop so that it's tileable. The images Acme outputs are usually so large I need to scale them down anyway. Shaun
Chad Warner
If you are using viz/max you can crop the image in there as well. (under bitmap parameters, cropping/placement)
BobM
If your map was 4 bricks high by 4 brick wide it would work you are 4 bricks high by 4.5 brick wide. Lose half a brick and a joint on the right hand side and it would work I think as stated your could do this by cropping the image.
BobM
Sorry lose the joint on the right hand side and keep on the left
