AJLynn
I figure this should be possible, but I have no idea how: I need to get grayscale raster graphics into a format that can be read as a spreadsheet of the gray values. Tab formatted, CSV, actual Excel file, etc. Any ideas? I have access to 2 universities worth of software, so think of that as not being a limitation. Andrew Schroeder
What you're trying to do is pretty straightforward with the right software. Find a GIS system with raster handling (display and analysis) abilities, and you should be able to export the raster values to a CSV in the format "X,Y,greylevel". I did a similar task the other day and wrote out 1.2million cell values in a couple minutes using IDRISI Kilimanjaro (http://www.clarklabs.org) (they just released their new Andes version). If it's not many files that need processing, I could probably take care of it for you on Monday. Regards, Andrew Schroeder
