d7man2000
when you render with vray, when one polygon intersects with another you get black areas where intersection occurs, how can I make so vray just renders what 's on the outside mental ray did care and was a little more friendly about this
BrianKitts
quick answer is, that you can't. You can't render a model correctly if it has coplaner faces. Neither of the faces are technically on top because they are in the same plane, so how would it know which face to render. If you pulled the vertical piece out even a 1/16" it would render. kunstraum.tv
you can..just increase under "general option" the "secondary rays bias" to ~0.001 and this problem is solved
d7man2000
you are right, it is gone, do you know if it slows down rendering time? thanks

d7man2000
thanks for that tip, it should be set as default if it doesn't slow down anything down
Christopher Nichols
It will not slow it down, just make it slightlu less accurate as the rays will bounce slightly off the surface. Still, it is in your interest to model correctly, a forgiving rendering engine is not an excuse.
d7man2000
for stills I can find where the problem is but for animation it is harder to find where the problem is
