grouchy_smurf Posted March 27, 2006 Share Posted March 27, 2006 hey all...just wanna know if there's a way to tone down the darkness of shadows in an exterior scene...i'm using a direct light and the lighted areas seem ok but the dark areas seem way too...well...dark...any suggestions?? hidr Posted March 27, 2006 Share Posted March 27, 2006 As you know everything has its cost and this time the cost is the rendering time that you are going to extend. Anyway generally the problem is that there is no light coming at the dark sides of your object, so you have to increase the bounces of the secondary illumination (quasi monte carlo is the default) or the samples. Another tip is that you could use a reflector (bright white plane to reflect the sun) or you can adjust the enviromental light (but this is going to make your brights brighter.
