Frosty
I bumped into an issue I had problems resolving and even then it was kind of a hack to do it. I will frequently put an HDRI into the envirnment channel on materials. Sometimes I dont like how it looks due to alignment. Is there a method of rotating the Environment channel seeing the results? Other than re-rendering of course.
Aries
Put your HDRi in a Projector (Texture / Effects / Projector), you can change the projection, size, rotation etc..
leoA4D
Put your HDRi in a Projector (Texture / Effects / Projector), you can change the projection, size, rotation etc.. Following your tip, which looks to be a v. good tip, I opened a number of .hdr and only half (semi-circlular) of each .hdr appears in the preview. Just checking - is this ok? Ernest Burden III
I will frequently put an HDRI into the envirnment channel on materials... This is for reflections only, right?
Frosty
yes. the benifit/problem is that the environment channel is always spherical no matter how your material is applied. using the offset angle allows you to rotate the spherical projection on the environment channel, but you can't see the results until you re-render. A solution I think is to apply the map seperately spherically in the colour channel of a temp material. This will allow you to align it as you like and then copy that setting into a projection on the real glass/metal material.
Aries
Sorry Frosty, I missed the "without re-rendering" part
