I am about to start a dusk rendering of a mixed use center, you know the ones that are poping all over major cities, hotel, retail, restaurants and lofts and apartments. I am rendering in max with vray and then a lot of post-production work in photoshop. So I am looking for general tips on how to approch the diffrent task, general lighting, specific lighting of hotel windows, stores, etc. I am thinkking of using and hdri to get some nice warm colors in the image.

Also any tips on photoshop, like what is better or more efficent to do in max and what is better to do in photoshop.

Thanks as always for the valuable help.

I have recently done a few dusk renders that I think ended up okay. The last one I did, used less tweeks than the others. All I did is pick the best image to use as a reflection background. Then crank up my reflection in the glass. If you want, exagerate the color of your glass. Make sure you have some basic walls and ceilings on the interior. Place some vray "plane" lights in the rooms you want and give them a real yellow color. Depending on the background and reflection image you go with, place your sun so it matches. Give the sun a real low multiplier like 0.2. Then decrease your environment/skylight down to like .4-.5. Post it!
