Flower Bouquet Models

Does anyone know of a place I can buy bouquets of florwers? Preferably dried ones in baskets?

Turbo Squid has many great individual flowers, but no real bouquets (esp. of the dried variety).

No time to model and texture them. Even if someone has one that they made, I'd be happy to compensate them for it or trade some of my models.

Thanks.

Those don't look so bad!

But if polygon count is no object, head over to planit3d.com under 'meshes' there are two screens of plant models, mostly flowers. Most have UV maps and textures, and are highpoly- *.3ds. I reduced some of them a lot using a 'detail reduction' program. The thing about the models there is that they are free, even for commercial use, you just cannot re-sell them. Anyway, check the agreement on the site, that's from memory.

That's where I got all the fish I used recently in a restaurant rendering.

Thanks.

I may have to make one, but 20,000 polygons per flower for an animation is a killer!

I am surprised that there aren't more good plants (no shortage of plants, just most don't look great), esp. flowers, out there.

First off, I use a program to cut down the polycounts on the planit3d.com flowers. I got some down from 20K to 9K polys without much loss of quality, and the UV map still fit. The stems fell apart on some, but who cares, they rendered pretty well.

What are you looking for, exactly? If you want much lower poly count than what the website has you are going to have to accept a stylised version, I would think. Or, if the plants are off in the distance and you don't move much relative to their position you could use a map.

Those look really nice. What did you use to reduce the poly count?

This is approx. what I was going for. I could probably put together a basket with a little modeling and some of the flowers that you suggested, but without reducing them it would probably be crazy (for a still it might be fine). Time is tight, so I don't want to model little things if I don't have to.

These are little more detailed than necessary, but it's what I could find for nice dried bouquets.

I've sent the client an alternative, so I might not have to worry - but they do like to change their minds ;)

you have a client that will nit pick down to the level of what flowers they want shown. I feel for you.
Is there any other kind?

I used Progmesh which I think is also free, though it may require a 'key' emailed from the creator. It is hard to use because the view manipulation is weird, and on models that are broken up into many 3ds groups it sometimes cannot reduce the count much, but when it works it is wonderful. You get a slider that has instant visual feedback as the poly count goes down, so you go as low as you can without destroying the model. As I said, I used it to really knock down the planit3d.com models of plants, flowers and fish. I assembled bits of several of them to make arrangements like what you showed.

There are other poly reducer programs, of course, but free was good.

Will you see only one or two of the flower groups, or many? I had them placed as blocks, but to render they explode into a lot of polys, no matter what you do.
