ZFact
Hi all; I seem to be running into the same problem over and over again... Does anyone have any tips on how to improve my light and dark contrast. I experience this problem alot when rendering out external shots with white walls. Where 2 walls meet at 90 degrees on an external corner I cannot get a nice difference in light / dark shade between the 2 plains. To give a nice crisp line. If that makes sense. If I decrease my lighting I can get a nice contrast but then the image in general is very dark.. Is there a way to have a nice bright image with good light and dark contasts? Thanks in advance for any advice

Do mean to save out as a multipass layered file and alter the lights and darks in photshop?

Frosty
Do mean to save out as a multipass layered file and alter the lights and darks in photshop? Yes. Even using a single layered render with some levels treaments.

To give a nice crisp line. If that makes sense. this only makes sense if your lighting is even all away around your building (as with an evenly lit sky dome), which would be unrealistic since the sun has a direction. Are you using GI? Try adding a distant light with a low intensity perpendicular to one wall. You should be able to tweak this in the render, and not mess around with it in post. *e
Jorge Arango
Yes, ColorMapping is the way to go: Render Settings> Effects You might also add to that Ambient Occlusion (that will help you show the vertice where the two planes meet). Render Settings> Ambient Occlusion Jorge Arango
