Ged Trias
Anyone have a good way to create parking lot stripes in max from imported autocad lines? Thanks, Ged
dnaranjo
Hi What I do is, I draw splines using th e auto cad lines as guides. Then I convert the street object into a ShapeMerge object, and merge it to the splines. Then I convert it to an editable poly and select those polygons and apply a standard white material. I hope this is helpful Daniel Naranjo
Ged Trias
Thanks for the reply, I would like to avoid redrawing parking stripes if possible- there are a quite a few stripes and the lot is rather complex. Can't I convert the acad lines directly to splines?
STRAT
any line in max is a spline. just make it renderable.
Chad Warner
Make your parking lines polylines in Acad, then give them a width of 6" (or 4"). When you import them into Max, they will come in as closed splines. Then give them an edit mesh or UVW modifier, and they'll be solid.
