antonio_frias
Has anyone used HDRi in Mental Ray? Is it possible and if so what's the best way to go about doing that?
Bojan
I usually use sky dome mapped with HDR image and final gathering turned on (if not, the scene will be black)
antonio_frias
Thanks Bojan, I'll give that I try. I thought maybe there was a Mental Ray HDRi shader like in Vray.

antonio_frias
Hi Paul HDRi stands for high dynamic range imaging and it consists in an image with many ranges of exposure. In one image you can for example have a very bright sunlight and at the same time be able to change the level of exposure and see the details in a shady corner. Actually HDRi's a bit more complicated than this but I think you should get an idea of what I'm trying to explain. I hope that helps!
