alfienoakes
To clarify.. You are using Max, with Vray free.. and Exposure Control.. So do you have Radiosity turned on as well..?? Go into your Radiosity panel, and disable it, along with exposure control.. Then try and re-render. What are your other setiings for GI..? Use Vray's and overide Max's.. (radio button) See how that looks.. Andy
anindia
i didn't use radiosity or lighttracer. but previously when i saw the vray out put with dots, i ve tried light tracer but dots become more. so i again inactivate it and rendered with vray only. in gi both refractive and reflective r on, max override is also on. alfienoakes
What about exposure control.. you mentioned that in your original as well.. This does not need to be on with Vray..
Tim Saunders
This could be a number of issues. Fist off, Exposure control has no effect on vray free. It renders the same regardless of what setting you have it on. It looks to me like you have very low subdivisions on your shadows. We really need to know your settings on everything from lights, shadows, AA, GI to get this figured out. Just a recommendation to all who are starting with vray and vray free, start with the defalt settings and change one thing at a time and test render so you know what is happening. Too often people change every setting in the renderer and then ask for help. Right out of the box, vray (and vray free) renders pretty nice. I would even suggest opening up a new scene and merging all the geometry from this scene. Then place new lights with the defalt settings. Until you become more familliar with what each setting does, start with vray shadows (adjust only the multiplier for now) not the shadow settings. Use addaptive subdivision AA. Turn on GI and use the default settings. Turn on your environment/skylight and check override max's. Then render. It may take longer to render this way, but at least you're closer to the result you're looking for. Lastly: This thread may get moved to the vray sub-forum, so check there if you can't find it later on.
