dave davidson
hi there is no demo or free version, because there is no final version yet. that will come out on the 26th. its still in the development stage of production.
AJLynn
...And I don't think they've announced any plans to do a demo version, but it sems to me that they could pretty easily do something where you get MXST, limited textures, no MXCL, and RS0 preview mode only. Devin Johnston
As far as any of us know there will be no demo version, this has been asked many times on the Maxwell forum and the answer is always no.
olbo
Hmm, ... but there is/was a version for resellers, ... with a watermark in it: Why shouldn't they do a demoversion, ... hehe. ;o) take care Oleg
Devin Johnston
I was asking the same thing a year ago before I bought Maxwell, I think the thinking was that they were only interested in serious users and didn't want to support any demo version. I think they were only interested in $$$, not letting people try before buying.
AJLynn
It's a valid point - I think a lot of people who would buy it on the basis of the sample images would opt out after seeing the render time first-hand.
Maximus3D
It been pointless so far for them to make a demo/trialversion since with each interation released the featureset changes alot so handing out a demo would be a bad idea during alpha/beta and the RC stages, it would only make sense to do so when 1.0's features are frozen and set in stone. / Max
_PopArt
I think on the NL forum they have said that with the 1.0 release there will also be a demo released:)
Ernest Burden III
handing out a demo would be a bad idea during alpha/beta and the RC stages That makes perfect sense, though what we have learned is that collecting money during an alpha/beta period is a bad idea as well. Especially when no returns are accepted outside of settling lawsuits. Its an odd combination--take the money + no returns + no demo + features in flux. We can see what they were thinking, but what were we thinking?
