High Rise Waterfront Flats

Have been working on this model for a few days now so I wanted to render and post my first WIP to see how it goes from here.

Virtually no time spent on scene set up so far, just a light for the sun and some radiosity.

C&C welcome........

Thanks for the feedback.

'Tartan razorblade'-that's brilliant!

It actually does look like tartan now you've pointed it out. Shame it's in Liverpool! It's alternating blue and red coursing brickwork to tie in with the neighbouring buildings.............

Been working on the scene but still to tweak textures and lighting.

Think I might prefer the lower viewpoint.

And I've just been told the design of the main block is to change. Wohoo there goes my weekend :)

Ian,

Cracking images... The water does look a bit uniform.. but that would be it for the externals..

The internal shot looks great.. One thing that catches my eye though. The external environment just happens to line up with the balcony parts, and looks like a poster or something on the balcony itself. It just looks like it is framed slightly with the balcony pieces..

Thanks for all the comments. Very encouraging and helpful.

The purple is opaque, coloured glass which I need to pick out more as you go right up the face of the building. You can see a pane in the interior shot.

I see what you mean about the backdrop Andy. It is a bit unfortunate. I won't blow the sky out as much and that should help.

Michael-modelled in ADT(main buildings) and LightWave(windows, etc).

Kameel-the grain is just due to lack of refinements in FPrime as it was a 10 minute test render.

Steve-do you think the water looks any better at full res? (see attached) It prints quite well but I'm glad of the feedback as water's always tempting to 'over egg'.

Cheers guys.
