IC
Iain, I started work on another view today and upped the bump and lowered the reflection. It looks better to me (ignore the backdrop) but as I said feedback helps. Thanks
Crazy Homeless Guy
Iain, I started work on another view today and upped the bump and lowered the reflection. It looks better to me (ignore the backdrop) but as I said feedback helps. Thanks i like this view better. the other view felt like it was cramped. it was cropped almost to the edge of the building. the building itself is very verticle. i wonder what it would look like if the image was expanded more in the top and bottom area, so that it was a portrait format, with lots of reflecting water, and lots of sky overhead. basically reinforcing the verticality (i really need a webster) of the building. IC
That's a good idea. I'll try the portrait format. It did look cramped before as all my photographs were based on an 8 storey building going in there rather than 18! Thanks.
STRAT
the water is better, but not 'water' like enough yet. it's very regular. too calm it is. the ripple is so small it gives the impression it's a light breeze blowing over a large puddle rather than a deeper lake. the bump needs to be a larger scale too, not just higher in value. and more 'random' if you can get it. and how about some fresnel? that adds depth and reflection falloff. better though (no comments on the rest of the rending, that's spot on)
