How can you have hidden lines shown in one page, and not shown in another?? ...

(sorry for the long thread title)

OK, so without changing any of the variables, how would one go about having hidden lines visible on one page (viewport in paperspace), and NOT shown on another page (and actually, if it was possible to change it within the same page, even better).

Now both viewports are set to plot Hidden, but the only way I can get this to work now is to set the 2 pages with different Plot styles and set the hidden line color to white in on one page (the one that it isn't supposed to show up), and a dark gray on the page it is supposed to set up.

It works for the most part, but it's not great, because if an object has a lot of hidden lines, on the page they aren't supposed to show up, the actually Visible lines look incomplete because it has white lines (the Hidden lines) overlayed on top of them. In a PDF it is espesially bad looking.

If none of this makes any sense, please let me know and I will try to elaborate and/or post up a pic.

Select viewport then right click goto shadeplot and select the hidden option.

Although you will not see a change on screen the plot will be produced as hidden.

Or is that to simple & I've misunderstood your question?!

Not sure about what youre intending with regards to using both options in same plot but maybe try using more than obe viewport and setting them up accordingly? Of course this wont work if they need to overlap the same area of drawing.

Hope this of some use.

Thanks for the reply, but I am using more than one viewport, and I am fully aware of how to hideplot a viewport. My question actually involves how to have the hidden lines visible in one viewport, while not visible in another viewport on a different page.

I know this can be done if you change variables (like changing the Plot Styles or other system variable), but wondering if it was possible to do without changing anything? (like if a non-CAD person is trying to print the file, they wouldn't know about messing around with the variables, but I would still want them to be able to print easily).
