Hey I'm a freshman in high school. You might have known that already but I'm here because I want to learn more about this stuff and get an early start on what I might want to do as I age. So if you can help me please do. Two of my questions are:

1. What is the difference between designing and drafting? (I'm new remember)

2. How much money do you usually make doing those jobs? (Per hour or annually)

Hi John!

its a good idea to start earlier, I started learing arcviz when I was in college. Then became an architect after graduation, but still use arcviz in private work all the time. But my advice to you is to try to concentrate on one software & try to know everything about. As for money talks, arcviz & architecture depends on your talent like any other stuff, but with a higher range I guess.

For Salary.. this may help you...

However, take it with a grain of salt. At your age, I would not worry to much about the salary. Are you interested in architecture? You you think it is something you would really love to do? Just keep in mind that, based on the amount of education you need, it is on one of the most underpaid jobs in the world. People do it for the love of doing it.

Yes, I'm quite sure I want to do something with Architecture no doubt. I've been interested for a long time but never thought of actually getting a head start and I figured you guys on here would be the best for that. Considering the fact that you guys know all the stuff I'll probably need to know right on here. What do you mean by a curtain softare? Like AutoCAD software?

Thanks for the list of stuff you gave me Christopher. I'm gonna use that for a project at school.

(sorry chaps, couldn't resist :) )

and yep, given literally years of experience there's a damn good wage to be had, but as i say, it certainly doesnt happen overnight. far from it infact.
