Thanks As long as you set windows up to reflect there is now only one monitor hooked up to the system all of the app windows should move to the single monitor. If you just disconnect it, then that will not be the case.
JamesTaylor
Tom, try reconnecting a 2nd monitor and open the applications, any pop up windows will still be opening on the 2nd monitor, drag them back onto the the monitor that is staying put and close the app. When you close it the program will save the position of any pop up boxs etc. for the next time it opens. its a bit of a pain but thats how i've sorted out the same problem in the past. anyway don't be so tight and let him have his 2nd monitor back......he'll be lost without it!!! Lester_Masterson
I also feel your pain. 3DSMax material windows and Adobe blend windows go awal if you remove that second monitor. My only suggestion is to crank up the screen rez to max. (temp drop the freq.) so it displays and see if that gets the window to temporarily display. If you are running the screen at maximum already...then..well..I'm stumped Lotsa luck
DennisHolland
This was THE joke, cracking up all students before ending class, leaving the room for the evening (more mature) students Uncool? I was the one dealing with 20 non-setup monitors and straighten 'm out before start. Lot's of coffee zipping mid 40's hippies going to class for kicks, and a stressed priest. BrianKitts
check your video card settings, if you have a desktop manager you can force all windows to open on a specific monitor. when I go home and remote desktop into my system as at work I can't see the panels on the second monitor. So I just turn on the "force to open" so that I can see all my toolbars. something like this could solve your problem.....
John Dollus
Also, your 3dsmax.ini file stores the window locations in x,y format (ie. XfmTypeInPos=186 665) You can either delete the ini file which will force a new one to be created using single monitor defaults (but you loose any personal settings that were there) or Open the ini file and manually shift your windows over It's usually a good idea to backup your .ini file once you have custom menus and/or your preferred environment set.
