kellhammer
Being an Acad user I've been looking into Revit. What I haven't seen is how a basic set of Con Doc's look like from Revit. The 3d modelling is a great tool but I deliver my docs all in 2d. I know it's able to cut building sections like crazy and it's able to update all drawings instantly. What I like about my Acad is the ability to actually get them took look like my hand drawn set of plans.

Hi kellhammer, I am just like you, a lover of Acad who is looking into Revit (Since Saturday - 5 days now) for it's ease of use and amazing ability to produce all manner of instantly updated drawings. You can deliver your docs in 2D or 3D, it's entiely your choice what you add to your sheet set. I understand what you mean too about the 'hand drawn' look but time is a valuable resource not to be sniffed at! Have a look at 2 screen grabs of a tutorial I have completed I have attached, one is of the various projections etc and one is of a plan view including a door schedule. I will still continue to use Acad (2007 now) but having another string to your bow can't be a bad thing. I'm sure this is the way to go. bigroo
I see from an earlier post that you're looking into ADT too? How far did you get with that?
kellhammer
Well, I'm looking to invest in either program. It's not easy to get a handle on which one fits my needs. Seems like I see more posts about the poor performance of ADT and it's unneeded complexities. I'm sure there are pro's and cons to each program. But the price tag makes me feel like the choice is not one I want to regret. Revit seems to get alot of accolades so I want to get more familiar with it on my own. I have the demo and just trying to find the time to really get into it. Probably should pick up a good text on it.
bigroo
Maybe before picking up a text on it, try looking for free tutorials online. Revcity, Caddigest etc. Stick with it!
Arnel
You can also try here some Revit and ADT Tutorial for free http://www.dgcad.com
antonio_frias
I tried all of the tutorials on http://www.dgcad.com and I have to admit that I learned alot from them. Some are free and for some you have to pay a very small fee (considering the quality of the tutorials; thanks Daryl) to download them.
