I need help

Hi all,

I wont to start to invest my time in learning one of 2 software Maya or 3DMax, for Architectural , visual effect, animation, characters.

What you suggest me to start with, Maya or 3DMax.

Which one more powerfull , with more options and capablyties. I now about the paint effect of Maya which is not included in 3DMax.

But I can't decide which one to start with. Pls. help me.

If you started with maya yoou wont be needing 3dsmax ,if you started with 3dsmax it wont help you switching to maya..Go with maya & you wont regret it!

It's a good idea to start learning with tutorials from the web ?

as I told you maya is enough!,you can use the gnomon dvds to learn maya.it is great

As Im sure you know Alias has been bought buy Autodesk, so it is my completely unqualified view that the two will in time become more similar to each other.

 

I use Maya, I just starting to get into Architectural visualisations, I think its fair to say that 3dStudioMax is more equipt for that side of it than Maya, but for animation Maya is the way forward.

 

In Conclusion, don't worry about it..
