here a inhouse test scene rendered with maxwell 1.0 on OSX with emixer output. rendertime: around 12 hours on G5 quad + 8 hours on G5 double 2.7 ghz in cooperative mode. compositing was done in after effects, with only slight level corrections + logo layers. modeling was done in formz.

here the download link (around 10MB), sorry for using rapidshare (don't know any better service for this)...

Nice test Markus. I only wish that we could have full control over physical sky in multilight mode to better simulate the transition between day and night.

Did you keep the same f-stop/shutter speed for both, day and night shots?

che, it is only ONE single shot using multilight mode - so f-stop/shutter are the same - or maybe didn't i understand your question?

strat: simply hit the 'free' button at the bottom of the page, then wait and follow the instructions... it's ugly and with bad design, but at least the download speed is very fast... ;)

Markus-

Did you export from FormZ to Maxwell using the MaxwellZ plugin?

EDIT: to be more clear, did you export to studio and then to render, or straight to the renderer?

i exported the geometry with the FZ plugin and then setup everything in studio. there i added some additional geometry from other apps and did all the texturing and material definitions, as well as the light setup.

What I am saying is that you can always modify the f-top or shutter speed in the preview tab to better fit the lighting solution you obtain with the multilight option for each frame/image (day/night).
