using Undo without the changing the views

is there a way to to go backwards with undo without undoing all the views pans, zooms etc, just to undo the object creation..

i don't think you can do that, but i'm not entirely sure - haven't been a full time user of autocad for a release or two so there may be something new that i'm not aware of. but, i think that the undos just follow the list of commands that have been entered, and the pans and zooms are commands just like line, move, etc unlike viz and max where you can undo zooms and pans seperately form the regular undo. hope that makes sense.

you can always save your view, then go back undoing everything, then re-load your view.

Unfortionatly I think the answer is No. I have asked the same question Many times over the years and If it is possible no one knows how. I personally think it is pretty dumb to have it set that way but I guess we are stuck with it.
