newdirection
This may be very simple, or not...I never know with Max! I am creating a glass dome. I want to precisely control the number of polygons vertically and horizontally (or however you specify those values), a different count for each, with equal spacing. If I create a sphere (which I then convert to editable polygon) I can choose the total number of segments but not different values. Am I missing something obvious Thanks. Logitek
I want to precisely control the number of polygons vertically and horizontally (or however you specify those values), a different count for each, with equal spacing. Hello Adam, You could start off with a circle. Play with the steps (this defines the number of segments in between the vertices you actually see on screen). Add an "Edit Spine" modifier and delete everything but a quarter of your circle. (do not CONVERT to Editable Spline or else you won't be able to go back to the number of polys -» steps). And at last, apply a Lathe modifier to it... With the lathe parameters you'll control the number of polys horizontally, and with the steps parameters (in circle) you'll control the number of polys vertically... Maybe there's something easier that I'm not thinking of, but this is quite easy anyway Cheers, Matt
