Crazy Homeless Guy
ok, i have a slight emergency... everything was working fine, but now my image won't render. it calculates the lightcache, and the irradiance map, then it stops. i do not have the 'don't render final image' ticked. i have tried checking it, and unchecking it. both yield the same result. i have a deadline looming tomorrow, and really need to send theimages tonight. any help is appreciated. ts. _____________ to those that read the choas board, i posted over there also. i am desperate. it is no fun to re-texture projects when you are crunching for a deadline. DennisHolland
Hi Travis, Stil a strange issue. Maybe some unorthodox explanation could be, that there was a 'don't render final image' box ticked earlier and didn't erase in the data while rendering a final image next time. Maybe the scene's cache didn't clear up after saving and unchecking 'render final image'... Did you tick the box in a test-render or something? If yes, this philosophy could explain/detect a bug in vray's last build. Regards, good luck Dennis
Crazy Homeless Guy
i was working, doing test renders, everything was fine. i didn't mess with the 'don't render final image' at all. i had just added a few 2d plane mapped bushes, and a couple of Onyx trees. i doubt they caused it, but i guess it is possible. whatever it was, re-setting everything fixed it. JamesTaylor
sounds like you may have had DR ticked and sending the image thro backburner.....???this has caused the same problem for me where it calcs the prepasses but won't render the final image???? one of the probs with max / viz is that check boxes can be accidentially ticked when grabbing the scrolling menus.... Crazy Homeless Guy
that is a possibility. i didn't check it, but i was in the system rollout tab shortly before it started acting up. i may have hit it by accident, and not realized it. i am not sure though. i thought DR sent the entire bucket out to another machine? my problem rendered the lighting calculation passes normally, and then stopped. JamesTaylor
not sure how it works exactly, but i know when i've had it ticked and sent it thro backburner it has calculated the prepasses and then an error has occurred, everything seemed fine until that point! gfa2
Crunch time and freakish problems...gotta love that stress. Very cool that you got it fixed, just something to maybe help next time is that if you merge your entire scene into a new file that can fix some things sometimes. In this case you would have started with fresh settings which probably would have fixed the problem.
