only3d
hi evryone im trying 2 render an object with its wireframe only, but when render the image only the shadow appears wired while the object itself remains solid. ive tried doing it with a fresh new file and no fiffling with the settings and yet the result remain the same. worth to mention that im using a standart mateial only and nothing else. so is there something wrong in what im doing or is there a completely different way of doing that which i dont know of? heres a jpeg of what i got.. tnx
Tim Saunders
As far as I know, there is no way to render wireframe only within vray. If you change the renderer to the default scanline renderer for this particular purpose, there is a checkbox under the renderer tab that says "force wireframe". If you check that, I believe you will get what you're looking for.
Iain Denby
I descovered this prob too. What you do is choose a Vray material and select 'VrayEdgestex' for the diffuse.
Christopher Nichols
I descovered this prob too. What you do is choose a Vray material and select 'VrayEdgestex' for the diffuse. If you want it to be transparen too, you need to add it to the transparency map as well, just make sure you set the IOR to 1.
only3d
cheers mates! i think i got it used the opacity channel instead of transparency, seemes more logical 2 me. came out pretty splotchy but anyways i decided 2 go with stndrt mat with tiles in the opacity channel. seems easier 2 me w better results and much more control over the wire of the object. (my object being much more complicated than a box..) still many tnx's! till next time..
Christopher Nichols
Make sure you have the check visibility on in the IR map with the VrayMat. That should clear up the splotches
