ahuygen
what about the lighting here? ive tried to push it to the limit , its a simple scene. what could i add here. what would others add to it? cinema4d 9.52 those were the questions.. and this is a personal lighting test yes :-)
Woody
Hi, in my oppinion with the sun being so low and bright you need to warm the image up, which may just be a case of altering the white wall material rather then mucking around with the lights? ahuygen
ok yes.. probably what i need to do
Poll
Like it so far! But my experience is that when I add some furniture etc. Make it a bit lively, I get a better view where it needs some better lighting. What also works for me is to reduce the image to very small size, and then you get a better overview of composition and lighting. So my advise would be to add some detail to the room, and then maybe add some detail lights from some corners. But I like it so far! (your image reminds me to figure out how to make text in 3ds MAX, solid text so not thick lines as I always do under 'curves' - 'splines' - text.) STRAT
lighting looks funky. a tad 'unreal' where the ceiling and walls meet though. i'd personally add a touch of noisy AO into the scene. also, why not some blurryness to the refs in the wood floor? Indeed, about the floor, did you add noise to it's texture? If you did this to get blurry reflections i think you can better add blurryness to the reflection like STRAT said. ahuygen
thanks for the replies .. i'll check the tips and post some new ones Strat do you mean the shadows in the corners are to thick? and i should make it less of visible?
STRAT
yes. all the edges where the walls and ceiling meet are too dark. it looks more like shadow than the gi effect. as i mentioned in the above reply, if you're testing out lighting effects, why not try global AO? i use it constantly.
